Two Months Old!

Baby Finnian turned two months old last week. He is a happy baby who still sleeps and feeds much of the time. I am ecstatic that together we've mastered the art of breastfeeding while laying down; I'm much more patient with everybody since I am getting a full night's sleep every night.

Food, Folks and...

FUN!

After getting Happy Meals one day, Ronan came up with a fun way to play with the red boxes that Happy Meals come in - my boys turned them into hats!

They got some really weird looks at the Food Court at the Mall.

I love how the golden arches fit nicely around the eyes like a pair of glasses.

I wonder how much longer it will be till their heads won't fit in there anymore...maybe it depends on how often they are fed McDonald's!

Baby Finnian - Week Seven

Baby Finnian (we still call him Fin-a-fin) is now seven weeks old! It's been a while since I did a blog post on just him, so I figured one was due.

I bought a Moby wrap before he was born and have used it quite a bit with him. He looks so cute peeking out from it!

Mommy and Baby

I usually give Finnian a bath by myself so I am not able to take any pictures. This weekend, however, my sister Delta was over and she gave the little man a bath so that I could get some pictures.

He loves his baths - he never fusses.

Look at those huge eyes!

Lazy Day

Last Sunday I wanted to bake. A few days before I had looked up jelly roll recipes on the internet because I remembered way back to highschool home ec classes where I made a jelly roll for the first time. We picked up some cake flour when we were out and about, and when we got home, Ronan and I started baking!

Ronan is such a good baker helper!

He fluffed up the egg whites...

...and was excited to "make it snow" icing sugar on the finished product while Daddy and Baby Finnian supervised.

But the best part was eating it - with whipped cream of course!

Although he didn't help with the baking part (he was napping), Latham did get to have a piece or two.

The finished product. We filled it with my home-made raspberry chocolate jam. Next time I think I'll add some custard in there as well.

Then Daddy noticed that the top shelf of my dishwasher was off the track, so he attempted to fix it while Latham used him as a jungle gym. Here is Latham getting ready to climb...up...

...up...

...and away! Daddy sure is patient!

As promised...

...here are some pictures of our new house! The old house in Bellingham was smaller, and we definitely enjoy all the new space in this house - all 2800 sq ft of it!

I love having a garage to park in, complete with garage door opener. (Seriously, the littlest things make me so excited!) It makes it much easier to get the boys in and out of the van since they are relatively contained.

The front door and entryway. You will notice that Latham is in quite of few of these pictures - he followed me around the house and wanted to be in all of them.

The view of the living room from the entryway. We have yet to put pictures on the walls (you'll notice them stacked by the window) and put up window treatments, but that'll all come in time.

The living room as seen from the kitchen. The room dwarfs our furniture - perhaps a new living room set will be in the future too?

My kitchen - complete with fresh baked banana bread on the stovetop. My new range is gas, which I have never had before.

The kitchen and dining space. Notice the backyard; we have just less than an acre.

The kitchen and dining area as seen from the living room. I love how open it all is!

The master bedroom - our sleigh bed actually fits. Notice the hot tub just outside! We also have a huge master bathroom and walk-in closet.

Officially an office, but for now being used for a nursery although Finnian is still in our bed with me (and Daddy is bunking with the boys). We moved one of the boys' old beds in there so that I have a place to crash during night feedings once he moves in. This is a perfect space for the nursery since it is nice and close to our room; the Master is on the main floor, and all the other bedrooms are upstairs.

Another view of the nursery/office.

The boys' room. When we were moving we asked them if they wanted to share a room or if they would each like their own - they said they wanted to keep sharing a room. Collin got them a new set of bunkbeds (the T-shaped kind; the top bunk is parallel with the wall and the bottom bunk is perpendicular, with drawers and a desk on either side). Again we decided not to set them up since we are convinced great bodily harm would happen to each boy if they were given a ladder and a bed to jump on to.

Latham's side of the room.

The upstairs landing. Along with the boys' room, there are two more bedrooms, a full bathroom and a bonus room upstairs.

The bonus/play room upstairs. When they get to be teenagers we'll put some couches up here and a TV - what a great place it will be to hang out with friends!

I also have a half bath and a mud/laundry room off the kitchen on the main floor. I am super excited to not have to do laundry in a cold garage any more like I had to at the old house.

Before we moved in we had the interior of the house painted. This is the "before" picture - lime green and purple...yikes! The previous owners had made some very interesting paint color choices throughout the whole house.

We are all settled in, and are loving every minute of being a family of five!

He's Home!

On Saturday Collin came home from a week-long business trip to Japan. He was there with his employee Jun, and together they checked out different factories and plants. Here is a picture of Collin in Saikawa.

We're glad to have him home, although it won't be for long - in the not too distant future is another business trip. Where to, you ask? Buenos Aires, Argentina!
