Putting Things in Perspective

A few days ago I got upset with Ronan when he dropped one of the new CDs that I got for Christmas and, not only cracked the case, but broke off some pieces of it so now it doesn't close properly. He apologized for breaking it and then went back to playing. A few minutes later we had an interesting conversation:

Me: Ronan, I'm still upset that you broke my CD case.

Ronan: Um hum...but you still love me Mama.

Me: Yes, I still love you.

Out of the mouth of babes! Gotta love how they put everything into perspective.

Diaper Hats

The night before Collin arrived home from Japan, Latham woke up at 1:30 am and was not going to go back to sleep, which is completely unusual for him. I took him out into the living room to spend some time playing with him, and thus the game of Diaper Hats was born. Ronan woke up from the noise we were making, so he joined us.

When Collin arrived home, Ronan wanted him to show him our fun game which is played by putting a clean diaper on your head and laughing about it.

The game then evolved into trying to take off the other person's diaper hat without them getting yours.

Everyone got in on the action.

What fun in the McLoughlin household!

Silly Boys!

Collin just returned home from a business trip to Japan, and although I didn't take many photos while he was gone, I did manage to get a few when I found the boys doing silly things.

Ronan, who slept in my bed while Daddy was away, took an interest in my new yoga mat, and decided to take it to bed with him one night. When I tried to take it off the bed, I noticed that he had the carrying case's strap around his waist. Of course I couldn't move it without him waking up, and he protested it's removal so he slept with it like that the entire night. It could not have been comfy!

Months ago Latham realized that he could open cupboard doors, and one day last week he opened the doors under the sink and had a great time playing hide and seek with me. He was so proud of his accomplishment!

These guys are so much fun!

Winter Wonderland

On January 1st, Collin, the boys and I went to Mt. Baker to find some snow to test out the new toboggan that the boys got for Christmas. We were only there for a half hour or so since it was so cold out; we drove two hours each way for a half hour of playtime! It was well worth it though!

Mommy and Ronan

A perfect sledding hill!

Latham was miserable and burst into tears if he wasn't being held by Daddy or Mommy - it was his first experience in snow!

It's cold - let's go home!
